The UB Bulls (6-4, 4-2) have what is probably the biggest game in their history today. They travel to Bowling Green for a 6 pm kickoff. With a win, UB would clinch the MAC East division and receive a bowl birth. This would be the schools second only bowl birth, with the first one coming in 1958. Interestingly enough, Buffalo declined that bid when the team was told that they could only participate if they left their two African-American players behind. Buffalo history could be made tonight. (6 PM, TWC Ch. 13)
The Sabres look to get back on track at home tonight, facing off against Philly. Lindy Ruff has had enough of Max Afinogenov and Hank Tallinder. They will both be in the pressbox this evening as healthy scratches. AHL leader, Mark Mancari will get the call to skate on the third line.
The lines are:
Vanek-Hecht-Pominville
MacArthur-Roy-Stafford
Paille-Gaustad-Mancari
Peters-Mair-Kaleta
Rivet-Lydman
Spacek-Sekera
Paetsch-Numminen
Miller
I hope Mancari can contribute for Buffalo like he has in Portland. He’s been tearing up the AHL and deserves a shot in the NHL.
Yeah, we will find out. He was an awful skater a couple years ago, but I hear he’s improved. Thanks for checkin out the blog, and feel free to goto talkbuffalosports.com to talk Sabres/Pirates!
