Ryan Miller signs 5 year extension

Now the uncertainty can finally end.

The Sabres have locked up Ryan Miller.

The Buffalo Sabres today announced they have signed goaltender Ryan Miller to a five-year contract extension. Miller, who will enter the final year of his contract this season, is now signed with the club through the 2013-2014 season.

Miller (7/17/80, 6’2”, 175lbs) appeared in a franchise-high 76 games last season, posting a record of 36-27-10 with a 2.64 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. During the season, Miller made 34 consecutive starts from January 24-April 3 and a career-high three shutouts. Miller also earned his 100th career victory on February 10 against Florida.

UPDATE: 5 years, $31.25 million. Miller will make $6.25 million for each year of the contract.

That’s right, Darcy never does anything.

Well, his teams have missed the playoffs 4 of the last 6 seasons, and only made one cup appearance. So I guess he DOES like to miss the playoffs. ;)
